  • The Green Cooter★★★★★

    Asher is a maniac!

This is an absolutely bonkers read, I love Asher’s writing style, just extremely fun and weird and unapologetic for how much of a blast writing crazy shit can be.

  • Great little book!

Full transparency that I read this book because I had the pleasure of illustrating both the cover and several interior illustrations, but it was a very fun read. A school where a traumatized girl is made to learn to wield magic and what she does in response. Very cool vibes and engrossing, definitely recommend.

  • Fairytales for Freaks★★★★★

THIS is why you love this genre!

My first exposure to Anne Snow was on Kindle Unlimited with her "...Three Men" short story (so, KDP wasn't a complete waste of time?) I knew right away that she would be one to follow. Her work is exactly what draws people into the genre to begin with. Unflinching, unapologetic and uncomfortable! I bought "Fairytales for Freaks" the day it dropped on Godless, and it was read by that evening! Each story in this book brings something new but equally twisted to the reader and I'd be hard pressed to pick out my favorite to be honest (although "Little Red..." and "Old Macdonald" both have stuck with me something fierce!) Obviously, this book is not for the squeamish, hitting just about every trigger warning at some point or another. But, given that you are here I have to assume that this won't be an issue. Unless, you accidently ended up here while looking for the next bedtime story to share with your little ones to which I say "back up slowly and walk away now. Seriously, the therapy costs just aren't worth it." Everyone else, purchase this immediately! There is simply no excuse not to have this in your collection if you are someone who considers yourself a fan of extreme horror/splatterpunk or whatever label you feel fits your sick and depraved literary interests! Buy it, read it, love it! You'll thank me later. So, you're welcome.

  • Summary: Goldie is 16 years old, taken when she was 8 by Daddy Bear. Now she has given birth to a baby girl, and knows she cannot let her daughter go through what she has. Review: Another in the fairytales for freaks series, disturbing, gory and utterly brilliant. I was completely rooting for Goldie, my heart broke for her and what she has suffered. To say this was only 32 pages, it packs a hell of a punch. Reminder this is extreme horror, so ensure you keep this in mind when reading the story.

  • The Ugly Duckling★★★★★

Summary: Dylan gets no rest, bullied at home and school. After a particularly devastating, brutal week, Dylan has hit breaking point. The duckling is going to make then pay. Review: I love this series, and this is another incredibly disturbing, brutal extreme horror from Anne Snow. In 22 pages this author packs more of a punch than some can do in 200. Absolutely brilliant, if you haven't read it already, make sure you go check it out.

  • A Therapy Session★★★★★

As therapists, we’re trained to handle everything. Even the patient who walks in claiming paranormal experiences. Trained, mind you, does not mean it’s easy, and it doesn’t mean we always agree with the methods. So how would you react? Our first instinct is to stabilize, then hospitalize. But what if you believe them? What if what they’re describing is real? Serna puts a therapist on a house call to hear exactly that kind of story, and what unfolds is a slow, tightening dread that has no business working this well in 34 pages. The clinical framing is what makes it land. There is something uniquely unsettling about watching someone trained to explain things run out of explanations.

  • Please, Wake Up★★★★★

This book truly left me sad. Such a small but impactful story that left me reeling for days. Trauma really can do a number on the human psyche.
